After 22 years of operation in Gwinnett County, the urban sprawl of Atlanta replaced the rural neighborhood of Valley Vista, making it impossible to expand the business. Early in 2004, a decision was made to sell Valley Vista and relocate a little further up the interstate.

Grove River Ranch LLC, named after the river that runs through it, is located in the agricultural Hickory Flat community of Banks County, Georgia, and has restored the quiet, private and scenic serenity previously enjoyed in Gwinnett. By replacing our 31 acre facility with new and larger facilities on 153 acres, we are now able to offer a wider range of equestrian services, recreational and retreat opportunities, and better serve existing programs.

CJ Farmer has over twenty-five years experience with equine breeding, raising foals, training horses, showing several disciplines on a national level, boarding horses, and instructing riders of all levels of ability. Resistance-free training and riding methods are taught. Although other disciplines can be taught, we specialize in hunt seat, western pleasure, and trail riding.

All employees and instructors must pass a background check, then screened and selected for their experience with horses and personal qualifications that meet standards required to provide the finest in equine care and management. Instructors at Grove River Ranch LLC have been trained to use resistance-free methods and proven safety techniques for riders of all levels of ability. Beginners are always welcome, as well as those who wish to escalate their existing skills to be successful horse show exhibitors and/or trail riders.
